Lakeview VIP's

This week we were fortunate to have several Lakeview students recognized for their efforts, as well as a staff member. On Monday, three of our third graders were able to eat lunch with Mayor Vern Rasmussen. Mr. Rasmussen was kind enough to provide this opportunity for students as a prize for a math night provided for the kids. Congratulations to the winners!

In addition, one of our second grade students was recognized for charitable donations to an organization known as "Feed My Starving Children." This good deed was noticed by local media and a nice article was written in the Albert Lea Tribune. Read the full story here:

Finally, we were surprised today by Channel 6 news with the news that Mrs. Haney, one of our second grade teachers, had been honored with the "Excellent Educator" award for the week. What an exciting way to show appreciation for all of our hard working teachers at Lakeview. The story is expected to air Wednesday, November 21 during the 5:00 newscast.
